Fanboy Comics to Join Whedonopolis for Pre-Halloween Charity Screening of ‘Dr. Horrible,’ ‘The Guild,’ and ‘Husbands’

Whedonopolis logoDear Fanboy Comics Readers:

The FBC staff is very excited to be announce that they will be attending Whedonopolis‘ charity screening of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-a-long Blog, The Guild Season 5, and Husbands Season 2 on Saturday, October 27th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in the Barnsdall Art Park of Los Angeles, CA.  In association with Fandom Charities, the evening promises to be a hootenanny of celebrity appearances, geektastic vendors, exciting prizes and giveaways, and lots of cinematic goodness, all benefitting Best Friends Animal Society.

Fans in attendance will have a chance to stop by the Fanboy Comics booth before the show to meet the creators of the graphic novels Something Animal and Identity Thief.  Attendees will also be able to purchase the official Fanboy Comics t-shirt, so that they can show their geek pride in style.  In addition, our friends at WE Comics will be in attendance to join us in representing indie comic book pride!

Attendees may also participate in a canned food drive for SOVA, a community food and resource program which responds to hunger in our community by providing individuals and families with the resources they need to regain self-sufficiency and independence, including free groceries, case management, counseling, and other supportive services, including legal counseling and job search assistance.  All are encouraged to bring non-perishable food to donate.

This charity event is not to be missed, as you can always guarantee a number of appearances by Whedon-friendly geek celebrities.  Previous special guests have included Joss Whedon (the man, himself!), Jed Whedon, Zack Whedon, Maurissa T. Whedon, Nathan Fillion, Felicia Day, Vincent Caso, Alan Tudyk, and many, many more!

Tickets are available online and at the door for $20.00.  Free onsite parking will be available.

Everyone at Fanboy Comics is greatly looking forward to the charity event, and we hope to see you there!
