Join Fanbase Press & Horror Writers for StokerCon 2017

The Fanbase Press staff is very excited to be exhibiting for the first time at StokerCon 2017, alongside a number of talented horror writers from across the country, as well as Guest of Honor George R. R. Martin! Taking place from April 27-, 2017, at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, the annual event is sponsored by the Horror Writers Association and celebrates horror and dark fantasy literature! Throughout the weekend, we will be meeting fans at the Fanbase Press booth, where you can purchase all of our comics and graphic novels!

Fans in attendance will have a chance to stop by the Fanbase Press booth to pick up copies of The Arcs, Something Animal, Identity Thief, Fearworms: Selected Poems, Hero Hotel, and Penguins vs. Possums! Plus, meet Fearworms writer and illustrator Robert Payne Cabeen at the booth to have your copy signed! As a special treat, Fanbase Press will be selling the official Fanbase Press t-shirt in sizes Small – XXL and the new Fanbase Press pin, so that attendees may show their geek pride in style. Plus, don’t miss your chance to pre-order a copy of Fanbase Press’ upcoming all-ages graphic novels, Quince and The Gamma Gals!

Plus, attendees are encouraged to make their way to the Ann Radcliffe Academic Conference, co-chaired by Fanbase Press Editorials Manager Michele Brittany and Guest Contributor Nicholas Diak.  This marks the first annual conference held in conjunction with StokerCon, and there are currently 16 academic presentations scheduled for Friday, April 28th, which will explore many aspects of horror in five topical blocks. Diak and Brittany will be leading presentations, including “Perfection Is a Process: Intertextuality Between Herbert West’s Re-animator and Dynamite Comics’ Re-animator Series” and “Unwrapping the Linens: Defining the Cinematic Mummy and Its Role in Popular Culture Film.”  In addition, Fanbase Press Guest Contributor Kevin Wetmore and recent guest of The Fanbase Weekly podcast Janet Joyce Holden will be presenting “We’ve Got to Get Into/Out of This Bunker! Paranoia, Politics, and the Inside/Outside Dialectic of Post-Millennial Horror” and “We’re All Alone Out Here: Isolation and Its Contribution to Space Horror in Film,” respectively.

Please visit the StokerCon website to purchase your tickets for this exciting event.

Everyone at Fanbase Press is greatly looking forward to the convention, and we hope to see you there!
