The Kickstarter Report: ‘The Chair’

In addition to highlighting Kickstarter campaigns for promising comic book and graphic novel properties, Fanboy Comics’ “Kickstarter Report” series aims to shine a spotlight on worthwhile projects from all mediums and interests, including film.  For that reason, today’s installment of “The Kickstarter Report” will feature The Chair, a psychological horror film with an exciting an recognizable cast that will undoubtedly pique your interest and leave you pondering the good and evil that exists in all of us.

The Chair follows the story of Richard Sullivan, an innocent man struggling to escape execution on death row. Witnessing the torture and murder of his fellow inmates at the hand of the prison’s sadistic and psychotic Warden, Sullivan decides that the only way to survive is to fight back. But as he matches the savagery and brutality occurring in the prison, Sullivan is forced to come face to face with his own sanity.  The film boasts an amazing cast, including Brian Thompson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Terminator), Bill Oberst Jr. (Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies), Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, The Expendables), Noah Hathaway (The Neverending Story, Battlestar Galactica), and many more!

If successfully funded, the film’s creators have a professional, experienced cast and crew on board who are eager to create a great film.  For a brief glimpse at what promises to be a thrilling film, please take a look at the teaser trailer below.

Be sure to visit The Chair‘s Kickstarter page, and don’t forget to check out the backer rewards, which include DVD and Blu-ray copies of the film, signed copies of the original The Chair graphic novel on which the film was based, and Executive Producer credit on the film! The Kickstarter campaign will close on Saturday, June 28th, so be sure to donate soon!
