The Kickstarter Report: ‘Sons of the Devil’

This week’s edition of Fanboy Comics’ Kickstarter Report highlights an exciting, new transmedia Kickstarer campaign launched by the very talented Brian Buccellato (Flash, Detective Comics, The Black Bat).  Combining the storytelling mediums of film and comic books, Sons of the Devil is a character-driven psychological thriller that is told in multiple timelines across 25 years.  Buccellato and the project’s creators seek to create an experience that lives in two separate forms of media that – when brought together – creates the rich tapestry of a world that examines the cult of personality.  In order to bring their inventive storytelling to life, they need your help!

Synopsis:
In 1989, the FBI raid the remote compound of deranged Cult leader DAVID DALY– only to find him comatose among the 93 murdered followers he sacrificed in a devil’s bargain. The only survivors are six infants rescued the night before the bloody massacre. Twenty-five years later, we meet one of those infants . . .

The 32-page Sons of the Devil comic book will be the first issue drawn by the amazing Toni Infante in an ongoing series that will peel back more layers of the narrative. Think of it as the second screen you’ll never have to recharge.  There are certain moments in the story, however, through which the full impact must be delivered via the magic of cinema. The creators of Sons of the Devil are making a 12 to 15-minute short that will be the exciting first chapter in the tale of charisma and deceit.

The creators of Sons of the Devil have been very generous and have allowed the Fanboy Comics staff to post a few preview pages of the comic book, which may be found below.

Be sure to visit the Sons of the Devil Kickstarter page, and don’t forget to check out the backer rewards, which include signed copies of the comic book, limited edition Sons of the Devil t-shirts, a role in the film, producer credit, and more! The Kickstarter campaign will close on Wednesday, June 18th, so be sure to donate soon!
