Fanboy Comics’ Celebration of ‘The Day of the Doctor’

I recently had the pleasure of going to YouTube Space LA to attend the simulcast pre-show for The Day of the Doctor put on by BBC America and Nerdist Industries. It was the perfect way to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the greatest show in all of space and time, Doctor Who. A full-sized TARDIS sat at the entrance to greet cheering fans as they attempted to contain their excitement until the festivities began.

Host Veronica Belmont interviewed guests Grant Imahara, Noelene Clark, and Phil DeFranco about their fascination with Doctor Who and what the show has meant to them. As they discussed their experiences, the audience members were able to ask the panel about their favorite moments, as well.

Once the final countdown began, the audience bristled with excitement when they discovered that it started at 11 a.m. with a picture of Matt Smith and went through each of the Doctors, ending with William Hartnell at 1 p.m. The celebration of fandom continued throughout the entire episode as the exuberant audience gasped and cheered . . . and some even cried.

For a taste of the YouTube Space LA experience, you can watch the pre-show below.
