#CrowdfundingFridays: ‘Meet the Sheffields Family,’ ‘The Day the Klan Came to Town,’ and ‘Loquita’

Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!

Project #1: Meet the Sheffields Family

What it’s about
: Introducing a graphic novel about a family that ends up on another alien planet where they have to adapt to new environments. The family learns to stick together and become a good family. Cammy, their youngest daughter, created a device which teleports objects to different parts of the galaxy. One small error and the device teleports the whole family to the “Alien Bay.”

The coolest backer reward: The best one is the “The Sheffield’s Postcard and Hard Copy.” There, you will receive a hard copy of the graphic novel and two postcards of your choosing.

Project #2: The Day the Klan Came to Town

What it’s about
: A fictionalized, graphic retelling of a KKK riot that occurred in Carnegie, PA in 1923 and the resistance to it. Created by Bill Campbell. The Day the Klan Came to Town focuses on Primo Salerno, a man with a troubled past. He was pulled from the sulfur mines of Sicily as a teen to fight in the First World War. Afterward, he became the focus of a local fascist and was forced to emigrate to the United States. He doesn’t want to fight but feels that he may have no choice. The entire town needs him—and indeed everybody—to make a stand.
