‘TMNT Universe #4:’ Comic Book Review

Happy belated Thanksgiving, Turtle fans!  Hopefully, no one served you turtle soup for the holidays.  Is that even a popular Turkey Day appetizer?

That being said, if there’s one thing I’m thankful for this year, it’s the new TMNT Universe series by writer Paul Allor.  Last month, chaos ensued upon our heroes-in-a-half-shell who are working together alongside a new enemy—the mysterious scorpion, Zodi.  April O’Neil has also come up with a dangerous plan to help her friends, but when she gets shot by the Earth Protection Force, chaos no longer begins to explain the situation…

This month, in TMNT Universe #4, chaos has turned into an all-out war between mutants and humans.  The Turtles are trapped inside Baxter Stockman’s laboratory, and it’s gonna take more than just April O’Neal to save their shells.

Meanwhile, Leonardo finds himself in a direct altercation with The Rat King in his own storyline, “Inside Out.”  But as he begins to face off between Professor Harold and his own turtle, Metalhead, it starts to appear that Leo is having his own worst nightmare!

Besides my friends and family I got to see this holiday season, I’m also thankful for writer Paul Allor and this amazing story, as well as creators, Kevin Eastman, Tom Waltz, and Bobby Curnow.  Most of this team has not only created a universe parallel to one of the greatest city’s our own world has to offer (New York City, baby!), but all of them have continue to keep that universe among the highest of standards.  And with artwork by Damian Couceiro and Bill Sienkiewicz, and colors by Ronda Pattison and Tomi Varga, the comic book industry seriously couldn’t ask for a better team.

Bravo to all involved, and thanks again for keeping the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles alive and well!

Until next issue,
#TurtlePower
