Fanbase Feature: 40th Anniversary Retrospective on ‘E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial’ (1982)

As a special feature of The Fanbase Weekly podcast, the Fanbase Feature focuses on and celebrates a specific element of geek culture.

In this Fanbase Feature, The Fanbase Weekly co-host Bryant Dillon is joined by special guests Norm Harper (writer – Fanbase Press’ The Sequels, Haphaven / LEGO blogger) and Ben Ragunton (podcast host – The Two Gay Geeks) to participate in a thorough discussion regarding E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982) in light of the film’s 40th anniversary, with topics including how director Steven Spielberg’s own childhood experiences surrounding his parent’s divorce served as the film’s inspiration, the controversial changes made for the 20th anniversary’s “Special Edition” edit, the dark and disturbing potential sequel that was never produced, and more. (Beware: SPOILERS for E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial abound in this panel discussion!)
