The Kickstarter Report: 'Vindicated, Inc.'

Vindicated IncFanboy Comics readers recently learned a great deal about comic book artist Gerry Kissell in an interview discussing his projects, Iron Sky and Code Word: Geronimo.  Now, Kissell has decided to bring a personal and relevant story to light in his upcoming graphic novel, Vindicated, Inc.  In an attempt to bring the issues that plague our military vertans to light, including the effects of PTSD and physical injury, Kissell decided to create a story that centered around an emotionally scarred and physically disabled war veteran.  With the story in mind, Kissell and bestselling author Shane Moore (Apocalypse of Enoch) set out to create a gritty, touching, humorous, and tragic graphic novel about a wounded soldier who has to lose everything in order to find the true warrior he needs to be. Now, Kissell and more have taken to Kickstarter to raise the necessary funds to make this project come to life.

Vindicated, Inc. is a 100-page graphic novel about an elite forces soldier, John Russell, who was wounded in combat, losing both of his legs below the knee. Returning home to mend his wounds (both physical and psychological), a strange series of events befall Russell, who then finds himself donning body armor, a ballistic mask, and a cadre of lethal weapons to go to war with organized crime in Seattle.

If successful in reaching its campaign goal of $8,000, all of Vindicated, Inc.'s Kickstarter funds will be put towards the production costs of the book.  You can learn more about the concept behind the graphic novel in the below interview with creator and lead artist Gerry Kissell as conducted by Duncan Skinner.
