Project #1: Victorian Bareknuckle League
What it’s about: When Millicent Figg witnesses the murder of her lover at a bareknuckle bout, she sets out on a path of revenge that takes her deep into the seedy underbelly of Victorian bareknuckle fighting. Aided by the world’s greatest detective and fighting through a cast of weird and wonderful characters, she attempts to find those responsible before she becomes as violent and ruthless as the people she is fighting against. Imagine Pride and Prejudice descending into Kill Bill with a supporting cast of Steampunk Streetfighter characters. The comic is written by Carl Jackson, drawn by Marvel and Dynamite artist Jake Bilbao, colored by artist Pika, and with cover art by DC Bombshells penciller Maria Sanapo.
The coolest backer reward: The coolest backer reward is a fish supper with me in Whitby. If you don’t know where Whitby is, it is the small, North Yorkshire fishing village where Dracula first landed in England. I will deliver your comic to you there, buy you fish and chips and ice cream, and then take you on a little walk so we can chat about the comic book.
