‘The X-Files Art Gallery #1:’ – Comic Book Review (A Picture is Worth a Thousand UFOs)

Words can’t describe how much I love the adventures of FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully (especially Dana Scully).  Thus, it only made sense to review a copy of IDW’s The X-Files Art Gallery, whichm as the title suggests, is short on words.  Outside of a few quick Q&A blurbs with the contributing artists, this book is all about pictures.

Surprisingly enough, it still took me just as long to get through the entire thing, not because I tend to be one of the slowest readers among the human species during known civilization, but because I truly took my time admiring the art submitted by the likes of Joe Corroney, Charles Hall, Dan Harding, Miran Kim, Chris Mason, Mark McHaley, Sean Pence, Richard Cox, and Kat Staggs.

The work of the above-mentioned individuals is really a sight to behold.  In many ways, some of the work breathes new life and personality into the characters that simple photos just can’t capture.  For X-Files fan, I can’t recommend this book highly enough, especially because it also serves as a stroll down memory lane for those who don’t have the time to roll through a complete Mulder marathon every 72 hours.

It is often said a picture is worth a thousand words, and when taking that into consideration, this review could potentially hover in length somewhere around The Grapes of Wrath.  Even if I did attempt to novelize my thoughts on this special IDW release, my haphazard keyboard skills would never do it justice.  With that said, if you have any degree of love for the FBI secret agents, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of The X-Files Art Gallery while it’s still “out there.”
