Concept:
Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City’s police commissioner, joined forces with Batman several years ago as a reluctant partner before being shot by the Joker, paralyzing her and confining her to a wheelchair. Now, three years later, a medical miracle has allowed Barbara to walk again…and to take up the mantle of Batgirl once more. Barbara readjusts to her former life with the skills of an intelligent woman with an eidetic memory and a desire to do justice, not to mention a need to prove to herself that she’s the right girl for the Bat costume.

Show Premise:
Three MMORPG-playing teens unwittingly unleash creatures and items from their game into the real world. Now, with the help of the game’s designer, the trio must search out “leaked” creatures and send them back to the game world while they balance their personal lives and school. The show airs on Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. (Eastern) on Cartoon Network (even though it’s a live-action series).

Concept:
Virgil Hawkins is a young superhero named Static who has the ability to manipulate electricity, magnetism, and a combination of the two. He juggles his superhero activities with that of his personal life and the need to keep his identity secret from the rest of his family, as they make their mark in a recent move to New York City. Hardware, another self-styled vigilante, acts as a mentor to Static, providing long-distance advice and support. Static himself is intelligent, resourceful, and something of a typical teenager.
And, he puns; he puns a lot, much like Spider-Man does in the Marvel universe. Frightening to be sure.

I have come to the realization, with great pride and enjoyment, that I am a comic book fan. Not something that would stop the presses and be considered of vital importance to the world, but, for me, it is a bit of a change in my entertainment and reading pleasure. It is not as though I haven’t read comics books throughout my life, but I never considered myself a fan until after I had turned 31.
