‘Danger Girl: Trinity #1’ – Comic Book Review

Danger Girl Trinity 1

Danger Girl Trinity 1Danger Girl: Trinity #1 from IDW is pure, glorious entertainment. It has a little bit of everything: action and adventure, exotic locations, intrigue, beautiful women, fight scenes, explosions, and just a touch of humor. Combine that with a fast-paced, compelling plot, beautiful artwork, and a cliffhanger ending, and you’ve got a comic that’s just tremendously fun to read.

The story opens with a bang, literally. Danger Girl Abbey Chase breaks onto a ship of Somali pirates in the middle of a thunderstorm in order to steal some mysterious bauble, and ends up blowing up both the ship and the pirates. She narrowly escapes, only to be captured again, by someone else. Or perhaps rescued. Her fellow Danger Girls seem to think it’s the latter and begin to effect a plan to rescue her—until someone starts coming after them as well.

All-in-all, this is a well-crafted comic that knows what it wants to do, and does it well. It grabs you right from the beginning, holds you all through, and ultimately makes you excited to find out what happens in the next issue. In short, it’s everything a great comic should be.
