#CrowdfundingFridays: ‘Into the Wilderness,’ ‘Fishing Memories,’ and ‘Honk’

Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!

Project #1: Into the Wilderness: A Modern Fantasy Comic with Talking Dogs

What it’s about
: After a deadly explosion rocks the New Jersey forest, a talking dog named Caprica and her stoic human partner Schneider go on the hunt for a killer. Into the Wilderness is equal parts hard-boiled detective mystery and classic Western, set among the abandoned things in the New Jersey forest, where talking dogs and off-the-grid humans precariously coexist.

The coolest backer reward: The holographic sticker and magnet combo at the $20 reward tier. Both feature the character Caprica, a talking border collie, and both designs were created by artist Izzy Cheng.

Project #2: Fishing Memories

What it’s about
: An allegory of those who suffer their last days with Alzheimer’s disease.  Published by Blue Fox Comics. Lethe is stuck on a desert island, with no recollection of how he got there. His only hope of salvation is to fish memories that float in the sea and, with them, regain his identity and try to escape.

Project #3: Honk: A Comics Story About Bullying by a 7-Year-Old Creator

What it’s about
: This 8-page comic book created entirely by comics creator Ryan Claytor’s 2nd grade son, Owen Claytor. “Well, the thing I made is a comic book. It is 8-pages long, but that’s just the comics part. There’s also a cover and a back cover and some other words my Dad told me to write on the inside so everyone knows I’m the one who made it.”
