#CrowdfundingFridays: ‘Starlite #1-4,’ ‘First Men on Mars,’ and ‘Breakin’ Barriers: The Documentary’

Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!

Project #1: Starlite #1-4

What it’s about: What happens to child superheroes after they’re all grown up? Do they end up like countless Hollywood child stars: a heroic past haunting their present, forgotten by the pop-culture zeitgeist only to be recalled in nostalgic listicles on YouTube? Chris and Sara Sheridan – formerly Mighty Boy and The Melter of the sensational Ultra Kids – vanished from the public eye five years ago, leaving the world to wonder where they went. When a tabloid reporter tracks them down, all three are pulled into an interstellar adventure that none of them could have ever imagined.

Project #2: First Men on Mars

What it’s about
: First Men on Mars is a steampunk adventure set in 1890 and follows Lady Wells-Cavendish as she unravels the mystery of a failed British expedition to Mars. As the survivors tell their stories, we are shown flashbacks of their battles with armies of Martians on their flying dragons, introduced to the strange plantmen, battles with berserk robots, and fleets of landships, before the final secrets of the red planet are revealed.

The coolest backer reward:  The Queen Victoria: Not only does it carry all the previous rewards, but it also features the opportunity for a full-colour commission by myself and Yel Zamor.

Project #3: Breakin’ Barriers: The Documentary

What it’s about
: As we celebrate breakdancing going into the Olympics for the first time, we’re shedding light on the darkest parts of the individual journeys of prominent dancers to reflect the culture’s societal issues, as well as its persistence to conquer them.

The coolest backer reward: A 101 Breakdance Class (In Person + Virtual)
