Ruffalo Smash!

Ruffalo SmashBy Michael Fitzgerald Troy

Before I start prattling on my editrix would like me to tell you there are possible spoilers of The Avengers movie in this article.   Although, after topping a billion smackers, I doubt there are few on the planet who have yet to see the 1st blockbuster of the summer. And, fewer still that don’t know that Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk completely stole the show.

MINOR SPOILERS

Between him thrashing Loki, punching Thor, and saving Iron Man’s fizzled out bacon, I am hard pressed to decide which was my favorite part.

My love affair with the Hulk goes way back to me and my brother watching the TV show and getting to stay up late to watch it on Friday nights.  We had many a Hulk merchandise between us. I was so excited when he was going to be brought to the silver screen by Ang Lee..until I saw it.  Edward Norton did an okay job in the re-imaging, but just that.

Hulk was way passed due to get his due on the big screen. And, along came Joss.

When Mark Ruffalo was cast as Dr. Banner, a collective wtf was heard ’round the world. But wait, this is the guy who plays the easygoing, wise brother figure with a quip-riddled sense of humor.  The guy that you don’t look for but you are always glad when he is there. The guy who you always watch. Oh wait, he’s perfect.  That’s your secret, Mark, you aren’t a movie star, you always were.

Michael Troy is a deeply superficial person. Born in the midwest in the ’70s, Michael came to Los Angeles to pursue his bi-polar career path as an actor and artist. 2005 saw the release of Michael’s first published book, Homo-Hero’s Big Book of Fun and Adventure (www.greencandypress.com). Michael has contributed to the Lady Gaga comic book from Bluewater Productions and has his hand in various other upcoming projects. Michael has performed stand-up comedy at all of the major comedy clubs in Los Angeles and is making his triumphant return to the main stage of The Comedy Store in September. Michael offers an off-beat sense of humor as the star of such youtube cult classics As The Gays on Film (www.youtube.com/fullfrontaltv), A Minute With Margot, a loving tribute to Superman legend Margot Kidder (http://www.youtube.com/user/rktcommander), and currently hosts a vlog style series Lethally Blonde over at www.monsterburg.com. Sitting alongside industry heavyweight Phil Jimenez at the “Divas and Lassoes” panel for the 2010 San Diego comic-con, Michael maintains and cherishes his “underground” status. A staunch believer in Blonde Ambition, Michael hopes his new comic about shallow blonde super heroes in Los Angeles, The Blonde Squad, will set the world on fire (or at least brighten it a bit). Check out Michael Troy and Lethally Blonde updates here!!!
