‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer #24:’ Advance Comic Book Review

Previously on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, several lines of conflict came to a head. Buffy’s personal attachments seemed to be at odds with Faith’s assessment of the Xander situation. Meanwhile, Anya’s plan may have a slight hitch in it with Morgan beginning to doubt her motivations; however, something really dark has overtaken Willow…

With Dark Willow in the driver’s seat, things get pretty tense at Sunnydale High. When one of the Slayers does the unimaginable, Willow decides that she’s lost enough, catalyzing a series of events that will surely throw the Buffyverse for a loop.

With Issue #24, writer Jeremy Lambert really puts a stamp on the whole Buffyverse multiverse, finally confirming its existence after a year or so of playing coy with the possibility. While the last few issues have undoubtedly been exciting, the lead-up to them has been pretty slow, so this feels like we’re finally on the verge of something truly big.

when they make good of grand promises, and the multiverse is truly an exciting prospect, possibly knitting together the previous iteration with this one.

Ramon Bachs’ art carries all the same strengths as his previous issues; the action sequences are dynamic, and there are some really powerful panels here. Raúl Angulo’s colors truly elevate each page, with some really stunning atmospheric moments that jump off the page. Ed Dukeshire’s lettering is top-notch as usual, giving so much texture to the soundscape of the book.

Overall, with the close of this issue, worlds really seem to be colliding, and I think that things are going to get interesting very quickly.
